Guess Who's Back?!

Ok, I'm up and running again.  Apparently I forgot my password which is weird because my password for everything is the same.  Maybe I shouldn't have admitted that.  If my email and personal accounts have been compromised, I'll know it's because I can't keep my trap shut.  So, not a whole lot has happened since I last wrote, which was 2 months ago.  I started school again a couple of weeks ago.  I'm taking Introduction to Folklore; not what I thought it was.  I was expecting to actually read some folklore, urban legends and superstitions.  Not the case; just a bunch of definitions and crap.  At least I only have 5 more classes before I have my Associates. I know, I'm way behind but at least I'm sticking with it.  What else, Thanksgiving was good.  We went to my husband's sister's house in Park City.  I hadn't really spoken to her for almost 2 years; ever since she threw some books at me and said some choice phrases that started with @#$% and !&#@.  Maybe I was asking too much when I told George I needed an apology.  She still hasn't; I'm over it.  Christmas was ok too.  It would've been better if I was in Statesboro with my family.  Christmas will never be the same for me again.  Until I move back, I have to settle for exchanging gift cards with George's family.  I did get an awesome food processor; I can make hashbrowns in 1.2 seconds.  I also got brand new silverware from my parents, a watch and a game for my Nintendo DS.  What else......I'm back on my diet.  One of my resolutions is to lose 25 lbs.  I started this thing last July and lost 15 lbs. but I kind of hit a plateau.  I told George today that Fridays will be my cheat day.  I deserve it.  Oh yeah, in 2007 and 2008 I paid our property tax....turns out my mortgage company was too.  We got quite the refund back then we turned around and bought a bedroom set.  I should say, George bought a bedroom set.  I can't wait until it's delivered.  On a sad note, my favorite country radio station is now playing Latin music.  That sucks.

Biore Strips

I'd like to give a shout out to Biore Strips.  They are the best invention next to Flamin' Hot Cheetos.  George and I did a mini facial last night.  After we applied the strips, we sat on the couch and watched some tv.  We were trying to talk to each other without moving our faces too much.  That was very unsuccessful, and we ended up laughing our heads off.  I must have a little mustache growing because I felt a little tugging on my upper lip, and it kind of hurt.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a pore minimizer?  My pores are so big they could be used to plant flowers.

Today is Veteran's Day....

and I have the day off!  My plan was to sit on my bum all day, but I've been pretty productive already.

* Woke up at 8am and spent 15 minutes trying to get my hair to lay down.  It's amazing; I had more volume in my hair this morning than the rockers in the 80's...and that was without hairspray and gel!  I finally gave up and just wet it, put it in a (very small) ponytail and put a hat on.

* Took Abby to the vet to get a diagnosis on her runny poo's.  Apparently she has bacteria in her intestinal tract, so I had to buy her new food, antibiotics and plain yogurt.  It was an expensive trip but still cheaper than kids.

* Ate breakfast

* Took a shower and did my hair.

* Folded laundry

I think next I'm going to finish painting my closet trim and my bedroom door.  Hmmmm....maybe I'll just go with my original plan and couch all day.

My husband

Look at what my sweet husband sent me yesterday just for the heck of it.  The card said, "I love you very much".  Then, he took me to lunch. I wonder what he's sucking up for....who cares, it's working.

I can cook, really!

This is what happens when I'm distracted by things such as setting up a blog!

I put some bratwurst in the oven around 7:30 last night and remembered they were in there around 10.  They were very burned.  I would've taken a picture of the bratwurst, but they looked a little vulgar.  I guess the picture of the pan isn't any better.

Hi. My name is Dalane, and I'm a first time blogger

This blog is dedicated to my sister, Dyana, who inspires me daily with her humor and creativity.  I miss her everyday and hopes that she knows how much of a wonderful person she is.  Ok, enough of the mushy stuff.....

I was sitting on the bus this morning on my way to work thinking, "if I had a blog, what would I name it"?  Then, it came to me, like in the movies where the Angels start singing.  Since strange things seem to happen to me on the bus, I figured I'd start there.  For instance....

Last month, I was sitting in the seats that face the sides of the bus.  During one stop, a robust lady got on and sat right next to me.  Just as she turned to sit down, the bus moved and she lost her balance.  She ended up sitting on me.  I shouldn't say "sit".  It was more of a fall.  Lucky for her she didn't sit on my lunch.  I would've had to Jackie Chan her.  As if that weren't enough; a few minutes later the bus driver decided to not run a red light for once and ended up slamming on his breaks.  Remember when I said we were sitting in the seats facing the sides of the bus, not the front?  Well, the gravitational force beside that lady smashed her into me then made me smash into the wall.  I think I let out a sound or an "Oh God!"  She ended up getting up and sitting in another seat.  Why couldn't she do that when she first got on?!  I'm sure the other passengers got their laugh for the day.  I stopped riding for about a week.  It could've been worse; she could've passed gas on me when she sat on me.
